What is a SEER2 rating?
SEER2, or Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio 2, is the total heat removed from the conditioned space during the annual cooling season. The new M1 testing procedure will increase systems external static pressure by a factor of five to better reflect field conditions of installed equipment. Please note: the SEER2 rating indicated on the product represents the highest possible rating within the range up to that specific value.
Stages & speeds
One-stage systems are the most common, and only operate at a single speed. Your unit will turn off when your home reaches the desired temperature. An example of this is turning a light switch on and off. Two-stage systems alternate between a low and high speed for better comfort and efficiency. Your unit will turn off when your home reaches the desired temperature. An example of this would be a light switch with two settings.
